CFCNET MAGAZINE ISSUE 2 thumbnail

Welcome to the second edition of the CFCnet magazine, the only football mag in the world produced through a combination of blind enthusiasm and sheer terror. This time round, we’re proud to bring you the interviews edition, with two bona fide legends to show you.

First up is Bobby Moore-beating, Real Madrid-conquering, all round top guy Charlie Cooke. Second is one of the few men in the history of the game whose position on the park will always be judged by the standards he set: Claude “the Knife” Makelele. Kudos to Toby for keeping his awe in check as he meets these two titans of the game.

We’ve also got the next instalment of our Old Bill special, with further revelations of how the games were policed back in the good/bad old days. We’ve got Dan Davies on a little more Chelsea history, and an extract from Kelvin Barker’s brilliant book where we look back at a classic Chelsea - Gooner match.

Mark Daniell brings his insight from the site over to the mag for the first time in View From The Bridge. And there’s also 60% more pictures than the previous edition, as we’ve just bought a camera, so you’ll get a review of the season so far in glorious technicolour photo. And lots of other stuff too.

We’d also like to thank everyone who’s supported the mag for us over the last couple of months, and send a plea out to our loyal and existing readers. The mag has been a bit of a learning curve for us, and a tough one to manage after the last few years of digital chicanery.

We’d like to send a quick appeal out to everyone who’s buying the mag: please… tell your mates, tell your enemies, buy one for your girlfriend, give your boss one for Christmas. We love making the mag, but we can only carry on doing it with your help.

Have a great New Year… we’ll be back in ‘07.
