The transfer deadline has expired now, yet Chelsea Ladies have pulled off one of the biggest signings in the clubs history and signed the Former USA international, Lorrie Fair.

Fair won a silver medal in the Sydney Olympics 2000 and was the youngest member of the USA squad in World Cup 1999. The 29-year midfielder is set to be the first American International to play in the Women’s Premier League. Fair has also been currently working for Chelsea as ambassadorial role in America.

Her new role at Chelsea will be working on grassroots schemes with the local community as well as playing in the Women’s Premier League. Fair has been speaking to BBC Sport and says; “I’ll be aiming to help the team improve on the pitch and to support the club in their grass roots work, which I’m really passionate about.”

Her previous clubs have been Lyon, San Francisco Glens and Philadelphia Charge. She made 123 appearances for USA but now is retired from international duty. Fair made her debut for Chelsea Ladies on Sunday against Doncaster Bells.
