LAMPARD SIGNS NEW DEAL thumbnail

Frank Lampard today signed a new deal with Chelsea that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until he is 35.  Frank had been the subject of various approaches from former boss Jose Mourinho, as he attempted to lure the midfielder to join him at Inter Milan.

The Serie A outfit bid for Lampard in July, but Chelsea rejected the initial offer, and also an improved bid, reported to be in the region of £9.5million from the Italian club.  Chelsea were adamant Frank wouldn’t be leaving this season, and now the new deal suggests he won’t be leaving any time soon.

We at CFCnet would like to congratulate Frank and those at Chelsea who’ve made this happen.  We’ve long wanted the England man to commit his future to Chelsea, and now he’s done just that, we can’t wait for the season to begin in earnest.

Chelsea 1 - Jose 0.
