As you know there have been some significant changes to the CFCnet web site over the last 2 months. Mainly the introduction of Club CFCnet, which is an additional, paid for area.
To combat the problems that we had last season with the ticketing forum we have also moved the “ticket exchange” into Club CFCnet. In truth, the ticket exchange became a hunting ground for miscreants who could register with no traceable details and simply rip people off. We had numerous complaints of people selling tickets and not actually sending them out and others relating to people simply trying to sell tickets for an inflated price.
Our initiative to remove contact details from posts helped for a while but was largely an inconvenience to genuine fans that had eleventh hour spares and requests. The way around it for the undesirables was to register on the forum and just send a personal message via the forum’s system.
Whilst it was impossible for us to police the exchange of tickets it was still disheartening for us to receive the complaints that we did. Unfortunately due to the involvement of Viagogo the club weren’t particularly supportive of our forum either so we decided to move it out of the public domain with the hope that as everybody requires a PayPal account, it will deter them from attempting to rip of genuine fans.
To access Club CFCnet you will need to become a member of Club CFCnet which has a small membership charge of just £1 per month.
All proceeds will help CFCnet to pay off the debts that we have accrued over the last 8 years in keeping this thing going, and subsequently allow us to invest in future development - meaning you’ll get even more of what you want.
Should you want to join Club CFCnet you will need to pay via PayPal. [ http://www.paypal.co.uk/ ] You can also join Club CFCnet via the Paypal website even if you don’t have a PayPal account. You only need a credit or debit card. All transactions are completely secure. (T&C/QA available on the PayPal website)
