If you are thinking about going to any of the matches in the U.S tour this summer, then Chelsea in America still have tickets left for all the matches, at a discounted rate to other official outlets, and I’d strongly urge people to explore this avenue before any others.

Having looked into buying five tickets together for the Milan match, I found that TicketMaster (as suggested by the club) wanted $125-$150 for VIP access (the match, training and a free two hour beer party), on top of this amount is the charges they generously add on for their service (and we thought the Eddie Barnett tax was bad). Ticketmaster also doesn’t offer five tickets together on the package I wanted, and don’t have the best selection of seats available.

I have always lived in England, so I admit that I’m not too clued up on our Supporters Clubs across the pond, so initially I was happy to buy tickets from TicketMaster as to me it was the only reliable website. Before booking though I checked our forum and read through the ‘Pre-Season Tour USA 2009’ thread, and Chelsea in America is mentioned by fans who had purchased tickets through there, mainly due to their prices and including the training sessions for free (they buy in bulk and get special deals).

I admit at first I was a little sceptical as I knew nothing about them, but as people on our forum both use and recommend them, I checked the website on the weekend, e-mailed them and got a response confirming that the training tickets are part of the package.

The full details are that tickets sold on here are all in the Chelsea supporters section behind the goal, they include access to watch both teams train the evening before the match, you also have no service charge to pay. For Milan, it cost me $52 for my ticket, under a third of what I’d of paid elsewhere. Payment is handled by Paypal, so is as as completely secure as anywhere on the Internet.

They also have hotels booked in all four locations at a currently discounted rate (ends this weekend), they reserve a load of rooms, meaning you’ll be staying in the same hotel as other Chelsea fans, there is, of course, bars at these hotels and the chances are local pubs will be full of other Chelsea fans too.

(Also if you are in the states and like a bet, be aware there are certain regulations with regard to online gambling and although many sates have some of the worlds best casinos, betting online is restricted, So it maybe worth getting your “Chelsea to win, Lampard to score first” bets on before you leave.)

All details can be found at www.chelseainamerica.com

UPDATE – SEATTLE SOUNDERS JULY 18th
CHELSEA IN AMERICA HAVE BEEN ASKED BY THEIR SUPPLIER THAT AFTER THE END OF THIS WEEKEND (SUNDAY 14th JUNE) TO RETURN ANY SPARE TICKETS FOR THIS MATCH.

If you plan on going, then please purchase your tickets ASAP. OTHER TICKETS MAY BE PULLED AT ANYTIME WITHOUT MUCH (OR ANY) WARNING.

On a side note – Even if your not going to any games on the tour, but are ever in America or Canada for a Chelsea match, the site offers an increasing list of decent pubs for watching our matches whilst you’re over there. I went to Houston at the start of April, and found a bog standard pub where I sat there at 9am with my United supporting mate and just one other Chelsea fan. Had I of known about this site, I’d have gone to the pub they recommend.
