CHELSEA V NORWICH ODDS SUGGEST EASY WIN FOR CHELSEA AT STAMFORD BRIDGE

Chelsea haven’t quite clicked yet this season but on Saturday, Chelsea have not only their easiest game of the season so far, they have what should be one of their easiest games all season – Norwich at home. Norwich have so far remained unbeaten in their two Premiership games, drawing with Wigan and Stoke in their opening matches.

There are no real surprises in the match odds. Chelsea are the red hot favourites to pick up all three points to keep the pressure on those at the top of the table, at the time of writing Chelsea are just 1/4 to win the match. The draw is generally available at 5/1 whilst a Norwich win would be the shock of the season so far, even 14/1 looks too short on that outcome happening.

In a game where Chelsea are such overwhelming favourites many will want to back Chelsea in the handicap market to get better odds. They still seem quite short at around 7/10 to win -1 goal so the best handicap bet in this market may be Chelsea -2, meaning we need Chelsea to win the three goals or more to win, which is 9/5 currently and since Norwich are yet to face a tougher side, they could be ready to concede a few goals against such a strong strikeforce.

One value punt could be found on Frank Lampard in the goalscorer markets, he has other ways of chipping in with goals but it is worth noting that Chelsea often get more penalties than anyone else in the Premiership. Chelsea got 6 penalties last season and 11 the season before so there is a fair chance that Chelsea could get a penalty with the amount of pressure they are going to put on Norwich’s defence meaning Lampard should be backed to score anytime at 6/5.

In games where one side should score quite a few goals, these is often value in backing more than one player in the anytime scorer betting and another player who should be good value is Florent Malouda at current odds of 6/4. The angle with Malouda is down to the fact that Chelsea are playing at Stamford Bridge which is where Malouda scores the majority of his goals. He got 13 goals last season and 11 of those came at home whilst the season before 8 of his 12 goals came at home. There were therefore no surprises when he scored the winner against West Brom last week and he can score yet again at Stamford Bridge.

Who else do we expect to score? Should Torres be picked over Didier Drogba despite Drogba scoring 12 goals and setting up 15 goals last season? Most importantly, are Chelsea good value to win the league at 3/1? Let us know your thoughts.
