Following Chelsea’s defeat against West Brom and a number of months of uncertainty surrounding his job security, Andres Villas-Boas has been sacked.
The board will now refill their poisoned chalice, prepare their unrealistic blueprint for immediate success, and pick their next victim.
Best of luck to the new man in charge.

It’s simply amazing how quickly we forget the dismal, grinding football we played under Mourinho! (Although to be fair, he’s presiding over some more exciting fare @ Real Madrid) Do you really want to go on down that same road with Mou’s faithful & beloved Chelsea dinosaurs still holding sway & leading the way!??
Lest anyone forget, the idealist Guardiola has consistently beaten Jose; moreover he does so while remaining true to his ideals, namely playing the beautiful game – beautifully!!
It might take him a couple of years to inculcate that ethos & implement such an approach & style @ Stamford Bridge, but with his peerless Barca background & intimate knowledge of an all-conquering, world-beating system, especially (unlike the impostor Frank Arnesen) the discovery, nurturing & cultivation of prodigiously gifted youth players, he’s worth the wait. Pep, almost uniquely in world football, has earned the right (unlike AVB) to be afforded the time & the ultimate freedom to reconstruct Chelsea employing the Barca template & hopefully thenceforth on a course towards lasting, enduring excellence.
Dream football from a modest genius or Mourinho’s monster ego perpetually centre-stage? You choose..
Never liked AVB and particularly his tactics, but for goodness sake, at least let the guy finish the season!! I mean, we are still in the FA Cup and Champions League. The managerial turnstile then continues. I must say that it is particularly embarrassing that Roman employs and discards managers like he’s throwing out a meal he doesn’t like. Let Roberto finish the season off then, but for God’s sake, keep away from Benitez!!!!!!
Well, not a surprise, really! However, there is only ONE option now. We must return Jose to his Satmford Bridge throne. The club and the supporters need a massive boost for next season, all thoughts of Benitez, Capello & Guardiola are pure folly and most likely are potential disasters with more embarrassment to follow. Jose was the best manager we ever had, he hit the ground running and accomplished extraordinary results considering. He had the measure of Ferguson & Wenger: the fans want him, it’s time we had our way…
NO ENTRY! Rafa Benitez keep out! The signs (if they’re not up already) should be erected forthwith & w/o delay all around Stamford Brook!
Poor, mercilessly exposed RDiM has NO more chance on his lonesome ownsome than his unloved immediate predecessor @ Stamford Bridge. Whatever plans (if any) The Blues have for the eventual ‘succession’ – ie. next season’s now absolutely critical appointment – on no account should Benitez be considered – and frankly, I doubt that he will be (otherwise, surely, he would have been drafted in already??)
But here’s yet another dim-witted, dumber-than-dumb, shortsighted, potentially catastrophic Chelsea error; WHY on earth have the power-brokers-that-be @ CFC not recruited Gianfranco Zola – or even Capello – to sit in @ least to assist RDiM until the end of this difficult term??
1 more disastrous, yet entirely avoidable oversight..
Next year it has to be Guardiola rather than Mourinho if we sincerely & seriously wish to see a profound change in the playing (& coaching) culture & a new philosophy in SW6. Ironically, his first task will be to finish what the importunate AVB started – to cut away & dispose of the dead wood – and there’s a lot of it!
There really is no other realistic & viable option.
And Roman A, time to re-invest in a BIG way now if you don’t want to preside over the terminal decline of our beloved CFC.
Arjen Robben please come home too ASAP!
Hail the New Blue-volution!!!!
good job by the board. Avb suppose to have been long time before now. A competent one is required.
