Chelsea fans are a worried bunch this weekend. George Graham is out of a job and looking for work. So now is the time to rally round and get behind Claudio Ranieri.

Chelsea went in front with a rare goal from Marcel Desailly who nodded in from close range after a well-taken corner. But the Mackems kept pressing and after a dodgy free-kick decision went their way Hutchinson got them level. However, Gudjohnsen’s excellently taken goal ensured that Chelsea went in ahead at half-time.

Blues fans sat back in the second half and expected the team’s fine home form to carry them to a comfortable victory. Unfortunately though, the team sat back too and got a rude awakening. To say that the wheels came off would be an understatement. It was more a case of the engine exploding.

The supporters have seen some dismal displays away from home this season but this second half showing at the Bridge was as bad as any on the road. Sunderland wanted the points more and in the end deserved them. It is hard to back Ranieri after such a pitiful performance, even with George Graham searching for a new job.
