Well strike me down with a feather, Scudamore and his ridiculous greed led idea to prostitute the English Premiership to any Tom, Dick or Harry has been criticised by non other than Sepp Blatter. For the first time ever I actually find myself agreeing with Blatter, who is renowned for his perennial crazy ideas and statements. (Although women footballers wearing shorter shorts doesn’t seem such a bad idea on principle.)

There are no flies on our Sepp, who gave his thoughts to the BBC; “This does not take into consideration the fans of the clubs and it gives the impression that they just want to go on tour to make some money”.  Sepp went on to warn that Scudamore and his hunger for money could affect the FA’s bid for the 2008 World Cup.

Scudamore has not only angered the majority of Premier League fans, he’s also successfully helping to label the senior directors, executives and chairman of our clubs in Asia and Australia as greedy pimps willing to whore their clubs across the world at the first sight of anyone’s thruppenny bits. We knew that but does the rest of the world need to know?

He’s also proved that there is someone involved in football that’s madder than Blatter. Now that is a real achievement. Well done Scudamore.

Looking at our very own thread on the subject in the forum, it currently shows that 83.06% of the fans who voted are against the idea.  If we were to use a MORI poll type method and apply that percentage against last month’s unique visitors to CFCnet. I could safely estimate that 156,870 visitors to CFCnet think Sudamore’s idea is ridiculous.

I also personally think that figure is fairly reflective of actual feelings because our website doesn’t, unlike some others, actively encourage likeminded individuals to vote or post on the site.

In these cases it would be easy to say that we have 100% support against it or we received 20 emails and all were opposed. This would be the case naturally as everyone is like minded. We are very open in the fact we try to try encourage “intelligent” debate and you will see in that thread that there are people putting the case forward in supporting the proposal. Hats off to them too. Visitors supporting the proposal using a MORI poll type method would total 32,016.

This is just one reason why I think that CFCnet is so popular. It’s fair, intelligent and lifetime membership is free. You can’t get fairer than that.
