We can well and truly say that the new season is almost here now. In just under two days time, we kick-off our first pre-season game of the 2010/11 season with a trip to South London and Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace. The Eagles played their first pre-season game of the season at Crawley Town on Tuesday evening and lost the game 1-0. In that Palace line-up was none other than our old reserve player Liam Bridcutt. Unfortunately for Liam he was released by Chelsea at the end of the season after playing 44 reserve games for us. To get the full Pre-Season Low Down on our opponents for Saturday click on the link.

On the subject of our reserves, their fixtures for next season have now been published. In a change to the normal fixtures we will now be playing teams from the North of England, as well as all of our Southern opponents. In previous seasons we had just played against teams from Southern England and teams from the Midlands. Chelsea has today announced the launch of a new away kit. If you had seen the news page here at CFCnet yesterday then you would have seen a sneak preview before the launch. The away kit is described as Black and Orange and will be worn for the first time in our pre-season game on August 4 away to Hamburg. If you have not seen the kit, have a look at the Black & Orange kit and let us know what you think.

In other news today, we wave goodbye to Juliano Belletti as he has now moved to Fluminense in Brazil. Everybody here at CFCnet wishes Juliano the best of luck. My own personal reminder of Belletti was that cracker of a goal that he scored against Tottenham in January 2008.
