With first team players back in action, Frankfurt was the venue for another pre-season game. Much like our trip to Amsterdam though, after 90 minutes we were the defeated team. Frank Lampard wasn’t expected to play due to illness, but came on in the second half to equalise. Carlo Ancelotti gave reaction to the defeat by saying that we will be ready for the start of the new season. He explained “It was a good game. Frankfurt played good football and we tried to do our best but it was difficult because the pitch was not good and we are not used to this sort of ball. It is very difficult to play with this type of ball.” For full reaction click the Post Match Reaction Link
