Carlo Ancelotti faced difficult questions at the managers press conference in Cobham today as speculation has grown about his position at Stamford Bridge.

With his Chelsea side heading to White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon, they are hoping to arrest a dismal run of form. The defending champions have claimed only 5 points from a possible 18 in the Premier League whilst relinquishing their lead at the top the table.

Ancelotti remained positive however and called for focus ahead of a run of fixtures that will define the clubs season.

“We must stay focused on the pitch and in the training sessions, ” he said.

“We do not want to change identity or shape, we have confidence to play like this, we must stay calm, stay quiet  and do not be afraid. it is important to maintain a  good control of the emotion.”

On the subject of his tenure at the club, Carlo spoke clearly and revealed support from the club and the owner has left him at ease with the situation.

“I do not have fear for my job, I have total support from my players and total support from my club. For this (sic) reasons I do not have fear.”

“I spoke with Roman after the last game, he gave to me his total support, he understood the problem of the team, he is doing his best to give to everyone of us at the club his total support.”

Despite revealing that Frank Lampard would again miss out on being involved in the weekends fixture, there was good news in the shape of captain John Terry, who is available for selection despite withdrawing from the Marseille fixture in midweek with an ankle injury.

Jose Bosingwa, however, joins the list of absentee’s following the news that he has torn a hamstring. The Portuguese full back’s absence leaves room for his countrymen, Paulo Ferreria, ready to deputise. Boswingwa joins Alex, Yuri Zhirkov and Yossi Benayoun in the treatment room.
