At 13;25 on Sunday, as the Liquidator explodes into life, the Stamford Bridge faithful will rise, as one, to welcome home the heroes of the battle of the Nou. Only once before ‘has so much been owed, by so many, to so few!’

Banished handshakes, revenge for the away match, three vital points at stake, depleted squads, top four finish, relegation, bragging rights and RDM’s future are all on the menu for this Sunday Lunch feast. Three points are vital for both teams with Chelsea fighting for fourth and Rangers trying to avoid the drop.  I can see Arsenal dropping points at Stoke, Newcastle losing at Wigan and Chelsea finishing the match very much in contention for a top four finish.

I expect RDM to, once again, shuffle the pack. Chelsea have major concerns at centre half with Cahil and Luiz carrying injuries and Ivanovic suspended. I expect RDM to plump for Ferreira to partner JT, with Bosingwa and Bertrand at fullback. Midfield should see Essien and Meireles supported by, the man of the moment, Ramires with Malouda and Sturridge supporting, free scoring, Torres. Meanwhile, ex blue, Hughes has some concerns himself as Taarabt is suspended, with Cisse and Diakite doubtful. Expect SWP to make a start at his old stomping ground.

This roller coaster season still has many twists and turns left before its completion. At the moment, Chelsea have some serious momentum and I can’t see Rangers causing us too many problems. Hopefully Torres will be buoyed after his fantastic clincher in mid week.

After Sunday’s showdown Chelsea will have five matches remaining in the 2011/12 season. Three league matches against Newcastle, Liverpool and Blackburn and a small matter of two Cup finals against Liverpool and Bayern Munich. If RDM can lead Chelsea to 5 wins in those 5 matches then he will undoubtedly be in the hot seat for next season.

For RDM read ‘Roberto Delivers Miracles!’
