Two, superbly taken, goals, by, man of the moment, Papiss Cisse condemned Chelsea to a home defeat and all but ended our chase for Champions League qualification, via the Premiership. In truth Chelsea did enough to at least draw but who are we to complain about a well marshalled and drilled defence.

Cisse has had an incredible run with thirteen goals in twelve League starts. He has now surely done enough to attract a massive summer bid for his services. The vociferous away support will not take kindly to him being sold but surely it’s a matter of how much and not if.

So many games in the last three weeks was Chelsea’s downfall and RDM will want to get back to winning ways at Wembley on Saturday. The saving grace is, after Saturday we can rest the entire team until the big one on 19th May. RDM picked the right team last night and cannot be blamed. In fact had Miereles taken his early chances we may have gone on to win?

A Chelsea season without the drama of the Champions League is unthinkable so we need to forget fourth and win it! Oh such joy should Chelsea condemn Tottenham to the Europa Cup. We are 15/4 to win both cups, get your ‘well earned’ on it now!

So it’s onwards and upwards for the Blues. Last night’s team give us a few hints for Saturday. Drogba will start, as will Lampard and Cole as RDM returns to the experienced heads.  This season can still end as one of, if not, our finest ever. In effect we are two games away from greatness.
