The London Standard are reporting that Chelsea are set to go up against Tottenham in the race to sign Brazilian play making midfielder Oscar.
With the uncertainty surrounding Luka Modric’s move to the Bridge, Roberto Di Matteo has turned his attentions elsewhere, and is a keen admirer of the Internacional creative player.
The Standard claim, that sources in Brazil are saying that Chelsea representatives have already met with Internacional club president Giovanni Luigi, and are set to table a £15.8 million bid for the 20 year old Brazilian international.
Rated very highly in his country, Oscar is set to become a huge household name, and with Andre Villas-Boas also a follower of Oscar, the two clubs are set to go head to head.
Oscar has already been capped 6 times for his country at the age of just 20, thus proving just how highly rated this exciting attacking player is. In his young professional career he has already turned out 81 appearances, scoring 19 goals and assisting 22 more, an impressive record for the young Brazilian.
