The rumour mills have been working over time in the last 24 hours and here at CFCnet we have delved into sources to bring you the latest news.

Zlatan Ibrahimovich wants Chelsea
The biggest surprise has been the talk of Milan and Sweden hit man, Zlatan Ibrahimovich, who recently scored that fantastic volley in the Euro’s, whilst being selected among the tournaments top five players.

Various reports have suggested that Zlatan has issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to the Chelsea staff, as it has been stated he would like to play for the European Champions.

There is no doubting his ability, but at the age of 30, is he really the right man for the job? And many supporters are even questioning whether we need another centre forward, with the likes of Fernando Torres, Romelu Lukaku and Daniel Sturridge all in contention. Whilst others say we do need another striker to fill the large hole left by Didier Drogba.

There could be more to this rumour too, as it has been said that Milan are looking to bring in England and Liverpool front man, Andy Carrol. We’ll keep an eye on this one.

€17 million bid rejected for Andre Schrulle
Andre is a familiar name, and has been one of our potential targets for a while now. Yesterday it was reported by Mail online, amongst other sources, that Bayer Leverkusen has rejected an initial bid of around €17 Million for the young German winger.

The 21-year-old German International has excited pundits and supporters alike, since joining Leverkusen from Mainz last year. A product of the new German coaching systems in the country, he looks set to become a world-class player.

Leverkusen chief executive officer, Wolfgang Holzhauser said: “We have received a very concrete offer from Chelsea for Andre Schurrle worth over €20m.

Both clubs shoved figures back and forth for a while, but we eventually opted to hold on to Andre.”

The question now is, will Chelsea return with a higher offer for the young starlet, or will they continue with the advances of another winger such as Victor Moses or Theo Walcott, just two of the wingers that have been linked with Chelsea thus far.

Lewandowski set for a £20 million pound move
According to the Daily Mail, there are four big named clubs looking to bid for the Polish International star from Dortmund. Robert Lewandowski is a centre forward and impressed scouts at the Euro’s. He looks set to make it big in the Premier League.

It is claimed that Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United are all in for the 23-year-old striker. Villas-Boas is said to be a long time admirer of the forward, whilst Arsenal and Manchester Untited are both looking to bolster their attack.

This clearly states that Chelsea are keen to bring in another centre forward, perhaps not preparing to rely on youngsters Lukaku and Sturridge. Whilst Torres is set to return to form, perhaps the fact players seem to tire after the heavy fixture list, means that we need more fire power up top.

With Robert only being 23 years of age, this could be a top signing for Robbie Di Matteo and his team.

Modric deal back on?
Just as Chelsea supporters have admitted defeat over the Modric saga, with it being said the play making midfielder had opted to join Real Madrid instead, we discover fresh reports this morning that a £40 million deal could be back on for the blues.

It was initially said Chelsea had pulled out of the race, but Daily Mail have reported that they have re-entered the frame to sign Modric.

I believe that we will not sign both Modric and Hulk, with high fees surrounding both these players. It’ll be one or the other for me, and if its Modric, then I’m sure we’ll sign Moses over Hulk. After all, an excess of over £80 million for Modric and Hulk, seems too extravagant to me.

Chelsea to reject Aston Villa bid for Bertrand
One of the major successes of last season, and Champions League final hero, Ryan Bertrand, has been the subject of a potential bid from Aston Villa. New Villa boss Paul Lambert is looking to re-build an ever struggling Villa team, and Ryan was said to be a top target for him.

Roberto Di Matteo however, is not at all prepared to let Bertrand leave, not even on loan, seeing him as a major part of the squad for the coming season, and rightly so. Bertrand has shown huge potential for us this season, will be an important player for us, and a big name in years to come.

Tottenham to bid £5 million for Daniel Sturridge?
Yes, I also had to read that four times over to actually take in what I read. There is no way on this earth that Sturridge is worth only £5 million and I am sure any bid around this mark will just be laughed off by Chelsea officials.

A player of Daniel’s calibre is surely worth at least £15 – £20 million. And only a bid in excess of that would even force Chelsea to listen, as I’m certain Daniel is a player they’d like to hold on to.

Daily Mail reported that new Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas, who admired the young forward whilst managing him at Chelsea, is keen to bring him to White Hart Lane. But any bid that low will definitely be knocked back.

I’m pretty sure that Sturridge won’t leave this summer, he still has a lot to prove at the Bridge, and I believe if he has a good Olympics, he has a major chance to break into this Chelsea side and become a valued player for the club.
