Reports are suggesting that Chelsea have now gone in with an offer of €19 million plus bonuses for Marseille striker Loic Remy, which should be enough to secure the deal.

Chelsea officials have been deep in talks with the striker this afternoon after he was given permission to negotiate, talks went well and an offer has now been made.

Club officials have been frantically searching for a new striker to bolster the attack that features just two recognised strikers. Where this leaves Danny Sturridge though, I don’t know. I believe he will stay and fight it out as one of the three centre forward options, but with Liverpool on the prowl, he might be tempted.

Remy offers a different type of threat to Torres, he is powerful and quick. Has the physical side to his game that should see him match up well to Premier League defences.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, I’ll await that and let you guys know asap, follow my Twitter here to keep updated >> @chelseafctbos
