In danger of repeating myself with this article, I thought it was my duty to give supporters an update on these two deals as I was away yesterday and could not post. However, I was still following both of these deals closely and if you are not already aware, both deals are all but done, bar the official announcement.

Wigan have accepted Chelsea’s £7 million offer plus £2 million in extra’s for 21-year-old attacker Victor Moses, this will be confirmed officially today or tomorrow. As for being available for the Newcastle game, highly unlikely now with too many bits and pieces to be tied up.

The same goes for Cesar Azpilicueta, I doubt he will be ready to face Newcastle as I first thought, however there is a slim chance that both could be pushed through to be made available for the squad. La Provence (A reliable French source) have again re-iterated today that a fee and terms have been agreed between Chelsea and Marseille for Azpilicueta, even though the Marseille President did his best to disguise the deal, it has happened. The deal is said to be for €8 million, on a 5-year-contract.

Chelsea supporters now sit patiently awaiting the confirmation of both deals. But what about Hulk?

Well, there has been various reports suggesting that the confirmation of the Moses signing puts Chelsea in a much better position in negotiations for a forward. It is reported that Chelsea officials are meeting with both Napoli and Porto officials early next week in order to seal the deal for one of these attackers. I’ve said all along it will be Hulk, and I stand by that.

We are in a better position now with Moses joining, as reports suggest. Arbamovich will now take the stand that with Moses here, we have our cover, we can now take it or leave it regarding any deals for Hulk or Cavani, which is a pretty good position to be in.

Porto aren’t stupid, they’re delaying the deal down to the wire, but I believe they do want to sell, they want the money to re-build. Napoli are in a similar situation, both clubs realise these players want to leave and will listen to serious offers, but Chelsea are in the best possible position now. These clubs know that Chelsea won’t be bringing in both Hulk and Cavani, as well as Moses. The fact that Chelsea are negotiating for both players, means they have the upper hand and are in charge.

Good news, although I’m sure what ever we do end up paying for any of them, it will still be a ridiculous amount of money.

Exciting stuff as we enter the final week of the transfer window….
