We shall begin with some rather worrying news, our sky scrapping goal keeper Petr Cech is believed to be suffering with a mysterious injury, one that he has been playing with and will carry on playing with.

What we understand is that Cech has an elbow injury, a ‘bit of ossification in his elbow’ and will have surgery on it at the end of the season. The injury cannot get any worse unless he suffers more severe amounts of pain. Apparently it hurts him to stretch the arm out completely. Although it seems this is not a serious injury and still allows the heroic Cech to play on (lets face it, he’d play on with two broken legs!). Having said that, he is still carrying an injury for the rest of the season that does cause him pain, a worrying fact in my opinion.

For the people asking, from what I understand, we can in fact call back Thibaut Courtois from his loan spell at Athletico Madrid at any time, should the injury get any worse or that Cech decides he can no longer play through the pain. So at least we can relax a little bit knowing we won’t have to rely on Hilario and Ross Turnbull for a whole season….imagine that.

Meanwhile, there is pace gathering regarding the news that Chelsea are prepared to allow Oriol Romeu to go out on loan, with Bolton leading the chase. This would leave us with just 3 deep lying midfielders, or 4 if you include Oscar. I can’t quite understand why on earth we would allow this to happen, this would surely be a suicidal move? I’m not reading too much into this and see it purely as speculation.

Another Romeu rumour that has better sources and is more realistic, is that he is wanted by Valencia and could move there in the summer if he does not get his desired amount of first team appearances with Chelsea. This could well happen, but I believe that he will be getting a lot more game time with us this season than what he thinks.

Finally, Chelsea want Fellaini, Fellaini wants out of Everton. So what’s new? We’ve known this for over the last year, Chelsea have been scouting him for the last two years, thats a fact. Everton have rejected enquiries from Chelsea regarding the Belgium international midfielder on a number of times. Now he has come out and said he wants to leave in January, even though he quickly made a half hearted attempt to amend this on the request of his advisors. But it is clear for all to see that he wants out, his father has even said before you can expect to see Fellaini join a top club very soon.

He is yet again linked with us, with some papers reporting that David Moyes would be interested in a move, if it involved a swap deal seeing Romelu Lukaku move the other way in a loan deal. I can seriously see this one happening in January, with Chelsea’s midfield still looking rather thin, I can see Abramovich using all his money power to bring Fellaini to the Bridge, he will have to fight off pretty much every other big rich club around though. I am hearing that he might well be prepared to do this in January.
