The transfer window is shut, no more deals right? Wrong! Just because the transfer window is closed, their are still windows open in other countries, you can still also sign a free agent and you can still make deals for January, when it re-opens again.

So therefore, I’ll still be working hard to bring you the latest transfer news, rumours, and what I know. Here is the latest.

Falcao to Chelsea in January? As far as I’m aware, there is no agreement or deal in place for January as yet, these are just rumours. But this doesn’t mean it won’t happen. According to reports, Falcao’s father has confirmed that he will be coming to the Premier League in January, with Manchester City and Chelsea being the lead runners. Although Chelsea have all but dismissed this rumour, his father did confirm that he has always wanted to play in the Premier League with Chelsea.

Another attacking target Edinson Cavani has also been talked about again. So Cavani now has this ridiculously large release fee on his head now, this doesn’t mean we can rule him out, he has been Chelsea’s preferred choice and the club have confirmed that he is still on the agenda and a possible deal in January had been discussed. It’s clear that Chelsea will not want to pay the buy out clause, nor will they pay over the odds for the striker, so it is unclear whether we will pursue this any further.

Meanwhile, Florent Malouda is still on the transfer list and reports suggest he could return to his native France today, with their transfer window not ending until later tonight. He will have to lower his wage demands though if he wants to move to get first team football.

The Metro have claimed that Raul Meireles is ‘in talks’ with Fenerbahce and a ‘pre-agreement’ has been made for a deal. I struggle to believe this one and would be really surprised if he moved, especially as he does seem to be a key figure in Di Matteo’s plans, rotating with Lampard in one of those centre midfield slots. With his energy and pace, I believe he still has so much to offer in that role for us.

Finally, the legend of Didier Drogba. In short, here is the situation, he could become a free agent. His new clubs chairman only owns 30% of Shanghai, the rest of the club is owned between five other parties. But the chairman is the only one currently investing money and now demands that he is given full ownership of the club, otherwise his investments will stop. If they stop, the club cannot afford the wages of Drogba and Anelka, thus making them both free agents.

There has been speculation that he might return to Chelsea, I’m afraid speculation is purely all it is. I can’t see him re-joining Chelsea now. He left, he had his reasons, it was his time to move on, he accomplished his missions at Chelsea, the saga is over. The legacy has been left, it’s best it stays like that now.
