Striker, Romelu Lukaku, may have decided to get more game time at Everton this season but his loan deal on Merseyside certainly has the potential to help Chelsea this term.
The Belgian international has struggled to nail down a regular place in the starting XI at Stamford Bridge but has flourished on loan spells at West Brom and Everton.
Lukaku has proven to fans who bet on football that the standard of the Premier League is not too much for him but still his chances at Chelsea seem limited, considering that manager, Jose Mourinho, prefers to play Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o.
However, Lukaku is still helping Chelsea’s title push from the reaches of Merseyside as he has helped the Toffees climb to just outside the European places in the table and, in the process, take points off Mourinho’s rivals.
Take Everton’s recent game in the top flight; the 20-year-old bagged himself a brace in the Merseyside derby against a Liverpool outfit who would have been fancied to win in the football betting and are pushing frontrunners, Arsenal, in the title chase.
This is not to say that Lukaku has no chance of making it with the Blues in the future but for now there is no harm in letting the former Anderlecht star develop at Goodison Park, taking points off rivals, and (although the player himself might not think so) helping the Chelsea cause.
