Chelsea will be making the small journey across London today to face a Crystal Palace side who are sitting just above the drop zone and will be fighting for any points they can get. In the previous fixture this season, Chelsea got off to a good start but once in the lead began to soak up pressure with Palace having a few great chances in the second half.

We’ve had a near perfect last three weeks, with qualifying for the quarter finals of the Champions League, getting a tie that could have been a lot cruller, going four games without conceding a goal and absolutely running riot on our closest London rival; Arsenal and Spurs, everything at the minute seems to be going to plan. Except the form of Manchester City. The squad should be going into this game full of confidence, coming of the back of big results and playing a side far inferior in quality. However, being extremely disciplined at set-pieces will be key, Tom Ince can deliver a great ball into the box and Palace do have players who can cause us problems.

Palace on the other hand are coming into this game with a honeymoon period for new manager Pulis looking well and truly over. The Eagles are without a win in five and in that time only scoring the one goal. Although they are in desperate need of points, I’m sure a lot of their focus will be pinpointed on three of their next four games. In that time, they will be playing teams all battling for relegation, so could look to focus on those games where points look more likely to come on paper.

Chelsea still have a few first team players sitting out due to injury an suspension but we will welcome the return of Willian. With Ramires still suspended I would love to see both Luiz and Matic play as the two holding midfielders, as both can really move the ball well which could be vital when playing a team who no doubt be defending for the majority of the game. Schurrle has seven goals from ten starts for Chelsea which was a stat I was quite shocked to read, maybe the German needs the confidence of starting to perform well? I hope he does start but due to Eto’s injury, I hope he plays as our main striker.

Although we struggled last time out against Palace, they have really dropped in form since then so I can only see a comfortable Chelsea win. 4-0.
