England head to Brazil this summer for the World Cup knowing that their small Chelsea contingent will play a huge part in how the country performs.

England boss Roy Hodgson has the small quantity but high in quality trio of Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard to choose from but one of those players currently finds their position under serious threat.

Cahill, Cole and Lampard have enjoyed another fine season at the West London giants and currently are still in the hunt for both the Champions League and Premier League titles.

The latter is ever increasingly slipping away but the Champions League is a distinct possibility.

The Three Lions will be hoping for plenty of quality from the Chelsea trio that could be heading to Brazil with England results and squad news available at Coral throughout the summer.

Ashley ColeThe 33-year-old would undoubtedly see 2014 as his last World Cup, but getting there isn’t as simple as it once was.

Cole has been usurped by the industrious Leighton Baines a left-back for England and even more alarmingly for the former Arsenal player, he has Luke Shaw breathing down his neck for the reserve spot.

Baines is a shoo-in to go to Brazil, leaving the battle for the second left-back spot between Cole and Southampton’s Shaw.

Shaw recently made his England debut and Cole has not featured as regularly for Chelsea as he would have liked to this season, so it is still nip and tuck as to whether he will be in Brazil or not.

If he were to become a Champions League winning left-back this season however, Hodgson might find it difficult to overlook a player priced 1/7 with Coral to make the squad.

Gary Cahill
Cahill endured a tetchy start to his Chelsea career and found himself as a back-up on a number of occasions, but this season he has become a firm favourite of Jose Mourinho’s.

He has also made the centre-half spot his own in the England team and Hodgson will be praying the former Bolton player doesn’t suffer any injuries before the end of the season.

Cahill and Phil Jagielka have struck up an important partnership at the heart of the England defence, making the 28-year-old an indispensable part of Roy Hodgson’s squad.

Cahill’s importance to this England side is evident in his price of 1/20 with Coral to go to the World Cup.

Frank Lampard
Like Cole, this is likely to be the 35-year-old Lampard’s final World Cup but even at his post-peak age the Chelsea midfielder can deliver world-class quality.

At 1/2 with Coral to make the England squad, the former West Ham player’s summer doesn’t look secure just yet.

However, a player of Lampard’s quality will help England secure the results they need.

With an eye for goal and heaps of experience, Lampard is another important member of the England squad.

The midfielder will be hoping for more joy in Brazil than he had in South Africa, where a wrongly disallowed goal against Germany set the tone for a crushing 4-1 defeat.
