The Blues are planning on raiding the side that knocked them out of last seasons Champions League, according to The Daily Star.

Chelsea have already agreed a deal to sign Diego Costa for £35m, and are planning to bring Diego Godin, Filipe Luis and ex-Blues man Tiago with him.

Uruguay international Godin, 28, and Luis, also 28, have release clauses of £20m and with Ashley Cole’s release and David Luiz’s imminent move to PSG for £50m, Jose Mourinho is keen to meet the clause as he rebuilds for next season.

Tiago, 33, left Chelsea in 2005 after one season at Stamford Bridge and his contract with the beaten Champions League finalists expires at the end of June. With Frank Lampard leaving the club, Luiz departing and the future of John Obi Mikel up in the air, Mourinho is in the market for a midfield anchorman. Having previous in SW6 may tempt the Portuguese midfielder back to London, who could prove a shrewd acquisition.

However, The Independent are reporting that ex-Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is a shock target for the Blues.

With Barcelona deeming the 27-year-old surplus to their requirements, Chelsea are allegedly willing to meet his €30m release clause. Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo are already reporting terms have been agreed but a fee is yet to be agreed between the two sides.

Arsenal have first refusal on their former midfield star, but are not interested in bringing him back. The Gunners were purportedly Fabregas’ first choice but is happy to stay in London should Arsenal not change their mind.

Meanwhile, one midfielder who could be on his way out is youngster George Saville.

The Daily Mail are reporting the 21-year-old, who is entering his final year of his contract, is attracting interest from Wigan, Leeds and Wolves after a successful loan spell at Brentford, helping them secure promotion.

It was current Wigan boss Uwe Rosler who took him across West London originally, and it is thought he is keen to work with him again, with Mourinho slapping a £750,000 price tag on Saville. However, the newly-promoted Bees are also in the market for him, where he played 40 games and scored 3 goals for them in League 1 as they aim to build for their first season in the second tier for 21 years.
