According to Sky Sports, out of favour German World Cup winner Andre Schurrle has admitted today that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge. The winger who joined from Bayer Leverkusen in 2013, appears to have grown frustrated with warming the Blues bench and actively seeks first team football.

Mixed reactions have surrounded these speculations amongst the Chelsea faithful, many of whom feel the young German does not offer enough to feature as a regular starter in the Chelsea ranks.

Manager Jose Mourinho has mentioned that he feels the Chelsea squad will remain the same come the close of the transfer window next week, but he also admitted that a large offer could be too good to refuse. The region of around £22 million is what’s being mentioned for Schurrle and one feels this could be the figure that will allow him to leave.

I’d personally find it very hard to believe that Mourinho will then continue with the rest of the season with one winger short, especially if Mohammed Salah leaves for Roma on loan, a move that is also much expected to go through.

Salah to leave on loan?

Negotiations are certainly still in progress between Chelsea and Fiorentina over their right winger Juan Cuadrado. The Colombian star is attracting a lot of attention with his direct wing play, something that Blues supporters feel is missing on the right hand side. Currently however, the Serie A club are holding on to their asset by pricing Chelsea out of the move.

Chelsea are also looking at Brazil’s Douglas Costa from Shakhtar, who is said to be pushing through his own move to Chelsea and has publicly confirmed he wishes to make the move.

One thing is for certain, if Schurrle does go, expect one arrival at least.
