Chelsea full back Filipe Luis has apparently expressed a desire to leave Stamford Bridge and re-join La Liga side Athletico Madrid, the club that he signed from for Chelsea at the start of the season.

According to Spanish press AS, Luis has informed his former team mate Miranda that he wishes to move back to Spain and turn out for Diego Simeone’s side once again. He apparently misses his lifestyle there and also regular first team football.

The Brazilian International has mainly had to settle for the bench at Chelsea this season as Jose Mourinho has opted to go with Cesar Azpilicueta, who is a right back, playing at left back! This has clearly frustrated him and at this stage of his career, understandably he wants first team football.

Luis has had some solid performances for The Blues this season when he has been called upon and has certainly made an impact with the Chelsea faithful. It will be interesting to see how this one develops in the summer.
