After the madness of the transfer deadline day, Chelsea announced two more signings in the shape of Isaiah Brown and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who were both penned in on the first team squad sheet as a promotion.

With Andre Schurrle and Mohammed Salah leaving the squad and only Juan Quadrado joining, Mourinho needed to add some depth back to the camp and has shown his faith in the two youngsters, which must be the ultimate compliment for them during this early stage of their careers.

Both have featured on the bench recently and they will now continue to train with the first team squad and no doubt gain some appearances from the bench covering any injuries and suspensions. This experience will be ideal for them as the exciting youth continues to grow through the Chelsea ranks.

Much has been talked about recently that some youth players haven’t had their chance, so this is a big statement from Mourinho. To promote these two he must be confident enough to bring them in to the starting line up. The two will continue to feature for the Under-21s in order to keep match fit.

Loftus-Cheek has been at Chelsea since a the age of 8. Now at 19 years of age he is impressing more each day and has a similar story to club captain John Terry. I’m sure he’ll be hoping to also become a cult hero at The Bridge.

Izzy Brown is slightly younger at 18 and has come through West Brom’s academy, even making a senior appearance for them at the mere age of 17. Both players are technically brilliant and are beaming with talent that if used well, can give them both bright futures with the club.
