Chelsea have recently announced their squad listings for the Champions League and perhaps the biggest surprise was the inclusion of newly promoted first team player Izzy Brown. The 18 year old forward was added to the first team squad earlier this week and shortly after it was confirmed he’ll also be in the squad for the next stages of the Champions League.
It’s a huge step up for the youngster who has impressed Jose Mourinho and the Coaching staff alike this season with his dominant, confident and energetic performances in the Under-21s.
The rest of the squad is as you’d expect it with Brown getting the nod over Ruben Loftus-Cheek, perhaps with Mourinho thinking more cover is needed in the forward positions.
New signing Juan Cuadrado is also eligible to play in the next stages and is in the squad. The 26 year old who is eager to get his Chelsea career under way, only featured for Fiorentina in the Europa League.
