Chelsea face a very short trip to local rivals West Ham on Wednesday evening in their second London derby in the space of four days, and arguably a more important fixture as Manchester City breath heavily down the necks of the Stamford Bridge side.

Boss Jose Mourinho will possibly look at freshening it up a bit and bringing in some players who didn’t start on Sunday such as Juan Cuadrado, Thibaut Courtois, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Izzy Brown, Loic Remy, Filipe Luis and Oscar as he looks to keep fatigue high during a busy period.

It is to be an expected tough fixture for The Blues but also an important must win match as City are expected to easily pick up three points at home to Leicester. Chelsea will need to be tight at the back with West Ham certainly proving to be a threat this season, albeit suffering in the latter stages only winning one match since Christmas. Chelsea will use that as a decent plus point and will look to take the game to The Hammers, but it has all the elements to be a very close encounter.

Chelsea have been tipped by many to add more honours to the Capital One Cup already achieved thus far but they will need to be on their game on Wednesday and the home fans will certainly be up for it. The Blues will need performances from their key players in order to keep the gap to 5 points at the top.

Chelsea will certainly have the edge basing it on recent meetings, where West Ham have only won one out of 17 clashes against the Blues and lost 13 of those. Another mouth watering tie for the neutrals.
