Football Writers' Association player of the year
Football Writers’ Association player of the year

On behalf of the worldwide visitors of CFCnet I would like to congratulate Eden Hazard on winning the Football Writers’ award.

Eden had already won the PFA award in April. If you can remember Eden was one of six Chelsea players nominated in the PFA team of the season.

Over 300 journalists voted for the award and according to reports Eden received 53% of the votes.

Harry Kane was voted in second place and my personal player of the season, John Terry was voted third. Both Eden and John have had remarkable seasons but bearing in mind Rafa’s comments about John, he has shown remarkable determination to feature in every minute of every Premier League fixture and put in some of his best performances in the Chelsea shirt.

Eden has been with Chelsea for 3 season now and this season he has scored 20 goals so far and been a part of many others.

FWA chairman Andy Dunn, of the Sunday Mirror, commented:

“The list of truly world-class players on the Football Writers’ Association roll of honour is a long one and Eden Hazard is a worthy addition.

“A creator, a goalscorer and the hardest of workers, Hazard has been a constant source of threat for the Premier League champions.”

Eden looks set to remain at Chelsea for a few more seasons having signed a contract extension and will feature in Chelsea title defence next season. Whether or not Jose will add to the squad over the summer and who will be subject to debate. But one thing you can guarantee is Eden will be every present and quite rightly deserves to be as well.
