Good morning and welcome to CFCnet’s transfer news update for Monday the 18th of May, where we take a look at potential arrivals and departures ahead of the fast approaching summer transfer window.

Gareth Bale is once again the main headline this morning as the player is now apparently considering moving away from Real Madrid after his nightmare in Spain deepens. Manchester United are reportedly ready to break the bank and sign the Welsh International but the players representatives are waiting to hear whether Chelsea are looking to make a move, with owner Roman Abramovich ready to fund an offer by selling midfielder Oscar.

This one has had many twists and turns and it is certainly a move the Abramovich wants and if Bale does become available, Chelsea will be involved.

Meanwhile new signing Nathan De Souza will apparently need to earn his stripes before entering the fray at Stamford Bridge and will be sent on loan possibly to Vitesse like many other young blues. There was talk that he was already developed enough and ready to be integrated but as revealed by Jose Mourinho himself, the young Brazilian starlet will be off to get valuable first team experience next season first.

Finally, according to The Express, Chelsea are keen on signing Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure and have been alerted by the players agent claiming that his 32-year old client is 90% leaving The Etihad this summer for pastures new. City would obviously prefer to sell abroad but the player himself might be keen to stay in the Premier League and could be good cover and depth in that area.
