Good evening Blues and welcome to Monday’s transfer news update from CFCnet, as we take a look at the potential arrivals and departures at Stamford Bridge during this summers transfer window.

First off, as we are all well aware, today we say goodbye to a great servant and a real club man in goalkeeper Petr Cech, who joined Arsenal for £11 million. Of course naturally it hurts that he has joined one of our closest rivals, but at the same time I understand his motives and he deserves to be number one. Respect to Cech and always remembered. In my humble opinion and something I said years ago now, he has never been the same keeper after his horrific head injury. He’s never commanded his box as he used to, been shy on crosses and lost confidence rushing out. Of course he is still a great keeper and Arsenal have themselves a real bargain there and a real talent, but he will never be what he once was.

So, that leaves a huge gap in our squad depth and it appears that Chelsea are imminently looking to fill it. The Blues have tabled an offer of £6 million to Stoke for their stopper Asmir Begovic. This offer has been rejected and Stoke are requesting at least £8 million plus potentially a player on loan from Chelsea.

Chelsea are expected to come back with the required fee and sign 28-year old Bosnian International keeper in order to provide competition and excellent back up for Thibaut Courtois.

Meanwhile, a saga that seems to have been going on since the man in question was 12 years old, now at 22 and Chelsea are still persisting with bringing in former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba. Reports continue to circulate and although initially thought that Chelsea would not be joining the bidding war due to the fee being too high, it appears that owner Roman Abramovich might be pulling more strings once again and could wade in with an offer.

It is suggested that Juventus will only listen to offer over £70 million and both Manchester City and Barcelona are potentially weighing up offers.

Juventus have made it public that they’re keen on Chelsea midfielder Oscar, and this might well persuade both parties to enter in to a swap deal. Oscar was expected to stay at Chelsea this season and is very much part of Jose Mourinho’s plans, but if Abramovich wants Pogba then that could be a different story.

Finally and admittedly surprisingly, Chelsea are genuinely interested in moving for Atletico attacker Arda Turan, who has confirmed that he wants to move to the Premier League and is currently in negotiations with three clubs, one of which is thought to be Chelsea.

Although the Turkish International is a great talent, I’d be highly surprised if we paid £25 million (his market value) for a 28-year old. Perhaps if the fee was a little lower, I can see the sense but otherwise, this is a no mover in my opinion.
