Good evening Blues and welcome to Monday’s transfer news update from CFCnet, where we take a look at the latest potential arrivals, departures and done deals at Stamford Bridge this summer.
First up, news of yet another player being loaned out. This time it’s left back Christian Cuevas who joins Belgian side Sint-Truidense on a season long deal.
The 20-year old has had varied loan spells in his home country Chile as well as in the Dutch league but has yet to nail down regular games. He will be hoping this season will be different and he can make that step up.
Meanwhile, it seems like this is the same news every day but Chelsea are edging ever closer to securing the services of Ghana left back Baba Rahman from Augsburg.
Practically every source is now confirming that the medical will be later this week and the deal will be announced officially before the weekend. It’s expected to be £14 million up front with a further £6 million extra’s after appearances etc.
The Guardian have credited former Chelsea Manager Avram Grant for recommending the 21-year old left back to them, as he manages the Ghana National side and apparently alerted his former club of the players ability.
Finally – we can’t have a transfer update without the mention of John Stones, even if it is just to annoy Roberto Martinez just a little bit more.
Well, yesterday we said that Chelsea will be moving back in with a third offer of around £34 million, which should meet Everton’s valuation. And in preparation for the deal being accepted, there are further targets that Martinez is working on securing as a replacement for Stones, with the latest being Critial Zapata from AC Milan.
Once again though, we are no clearer to knowing what will happen here as Chelsea try hard to sign the England International before the window closes.
That’s it for now Blues, but remember to follow my Twitter here for the latest Chelsea news @cfcneteditor
