Good afternoon Blues and welcome to Monday’s edition of Chelsea Fresh – where we take a look at the latest Chelsea news, transfer rumours and anything else that comes up at the club.

First of all, Real Madrid want Eden Hazard as Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement at the club. Now there is something we have heard before right? Well, It certainly won’t be the last either. There is no doubt that Madrid want to sign Hazard. But the Blues will do everything physically possible to keep hold of their star man and the player himself has recently expressed his desire to stay at the club.

Next up, another winger who wore the blue colours at Stamford Bridge recently, Andre Schurrle. The German International has been speaking to the media about his woes at the club.

Schurrle expressed his disappointment of having to leave the club he was enjoying playing for and admitted that Manager Jose Mourinho had simply lost trust in him. He went on to make some valid points claiming it was hard to get consistent form at Chelsea, due to never really getting a long enough string of games.

Schurrle also said that as a winger it was even more difficult and he feels sorry for youngsters at the club who do not get the chance to break in. This is something that I have said a number of times and is the biggest fault of the club in recent years. Players and young players NEED that chance and that trust to be given a spell in the side, not just the odd 20 minutes here and there plus a cup game, it isn’t enough. We have seen the same situation with Mohammed Salah and Juan Cuadrado, neither really got the trust or solid game time to cement down a place in the side, while Schurrle says that Hazard’s place was always assured even with a lack of form, meaning there was only one winger place to fight for. You can understand the struggles here and it means we see many good players and class youngsters move on.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are thought to be interested in signing Porto midfielder Yacine Brahimi. The Algerian play maker is likely to miss Chelsea’s match in Portugal this week with injury but it is a player that Jose Mourinho likes after closely watching a number of talents from his former club.

Finally, Mourinho will drop a number of key players in the next couple of games, according to various UK press outlets, after growing frustrated to boiling point at yet another lame performance from his trusted eleven on Saturday.

I fail to believe this as for reasons beyond belief, even though we are sat in 15th position in the league after 7 matches, he STILL insists on playing the same eleven, the same out of form players who have shown lack of desire and efforts all season so far. He NEEDS to mix it up, bring in fresh legs and let others compete for these positions. Look at the amount of talent we have on the bench itching to get on and play. You will see more energy, more desire and more passion if you drop some of the under performers and bring in new players, a perfect opportunity for the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek who deserves a shot. Competition is healthy, but for some reason for the last 7 games and much of last season, we have seen the same under performing eleven trusted by Mourinho every game – it’s time this changes before we end up falling even further behind.
