Good Afternoon Blues and welcome to Thursday’s second part of the double edition of Chelsea Fresh – where we take a look at the latest news, transfer rumours and anything else in between.

First up, Chelsea are to battle it out with Manchester City and Real Madrid to sign Valencia defender Jose Gaya in January, according to some reports in Spain.

Chelsea want to strengthen the defence in the transfer window and have been monitoring the 20-year old defender for some time. They showed interest in the summer and his club used the interest to tie the youngster down to a new contract, keeping his value high. But Chelsea have big competition if they are to bring this highly sought after future starlet to Stamford Bridge.

Next up – Another future star has been recently scouted by Chelsea ahead of a January move, in the shape of Red Star’s Marko Grujic. The 19-year old has featured for Serbia at every youth level and has been tipped for a big future.

Grujic is a technical midfielder who has come through as part of Red Star’s youth academy and is highly regarded in his home country.

Finally, with Chelsea looking to tap up young talent, they are also apparently looking at Ruben Neves from Jose Mourinho’s old club Porto, who is also being scouted by the club.

At only 18, the midfielder has come through the youth ranks at Porto and is already representing the first team. Moruinho closely follows his old side and is a real admirer of he youngster.

Neves is also being scouted by Barcelona and Real Madrid, thus proving the obvious potential he has already shown.
