Good afternoon Blues and welcome to Wednesday’s edition of Chelsea Fresh – where we take a look at the latest Chelsea news, transfer rumours and anything else surrounding the club.
After a convincing performance out in Kiev on a cold Tuesday evening in the Champions League, the Chelsea side for the first time in almost a year – looked back to being the side that they started the season with so prolifically last year. Unlucky not to win the game and should have took their chances, but the individual and team performance and efforts, was more than convincing.
We have a bit of transfer news for you today and perhaps the biggest story at the moment is the latest Manager to be linked with Chelsea. This time it is not a new name, apparently Roman Abramovich has wanted this man before he bought Jose Mourinho back and this still remains the case. That man is of course former Barcelona player and coach, Pep Guardiola.
The Spaniard could opt out of extending his stay at Bayern Munich but he will not be a popular choice at Stamford Bridge, with many supporters taking to social media to express their discontent at the thought of Guardiola taking over from Mourinho.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are in the chase with Manchester United to sign highly rated Red Star Belgrade youngster Marko Grujic. The 19-year old Serbian youth International has shown comparisons to fellow countryman Nemanja Matic and is rated as one of the best talents coming through in that position.
Rated at £3 million, he is currently being scouted by a number of top clubs as well as Chelsea and United.
Finally, Radamel Falcao has been told by Jose Mourinho that if he is concerned about a lack of game time at Stamford Bridge, then he must step up and perform better than Diego Costa. Although I will argue that to do his he will need game time and although he has struggled on the few occasions he has played – I would like to see more chances go his way in order to prove himself.
That’s it for now Blues but don’t forget to follow my Twitter here for the very latest Chelsea news -> @cfcneteditor
