Good afternoon Blues and welcome to Thursday’s edition of Chelsea Fresh – where we take a look at the latest Chelsea news, transfer rumours and anything else surrounding the Stamford Bridge club.
First of all, I have just watched this video of Jose Mourinho’s ‘angry reaction to a fan’. Yep, pathetic, grow up, get on with it! What a non story this is and a ridiculous headline it has got. The man was on his phone walking down the street trying to get somewhere, what was the kid expecting, to sit on his knee and tell him what he wants for Christmas? COME ON!
Let’s swiftly move on to some actual news…. transfer rumours! Eden Hazard to Real Madrid is building some real momentum and nobody has come out to deny these rumours, which I do find odd. Meaning perhaps the situation could be happening. Like I have said all along, the relationship between Mourinho and Hazard is on edge and the player has clearly been unhappy with his Manager for a number of reasons. I still feel that it will either be Mourinho or Hazard who leaves.
Allegedly, Belgium Manager Marc Wilmots would welcome the move for his International starlet too, albeit this is merely a rumour and nothing has gone public. According to some publications, Hazard has even told his Chelsea team mates that he will be leaving at the end of the season.
So, of course there are now talk of replacements if Hazard does leave, meaning that Atletico Madrid high flying attacker Antoine Griezmann is back in the frame. Chelsea chased the France International in the summer but the player wanted to stay in La Liga for a little longer.
But with Hazard allegedly leaving, a spot could open up for Griezmann and a big money offer could come in from owner Roman Abramovich.
Finally, Sky Sports have officially reported Chelsea’s interest in Porto youngster Ruben Neves. This had been reported by a number of sources a few weeks back and now Sky have said that their sources are confirming this, with Liverpool also interested.
Neves is a hugely talented and mature 18-year old who became the youngest captain to play in the Champions League. A regular for Porto, the midfielder is one of the hottest prospects around and his fellow countryman Mourinho has always had a keen interest on him.
Neves has a release clause of around £35 million that will not put off any potential suitors and he has the same agent as Jose Mourinho. Neves is a natural talent who plays in that deep lying midfield role. Certainly a top talent that would be welcomed by the Stamford Bridge faithful.
