Good morning Blues and welcome to Tuesday’s edition of Chelsea Fresh – where we take a look at the latest Chelsea news, transfer rumours and anything else surrounding the club.
After getting back to winning ways against Aston Villa at the weekend, without being convincing at all but gaining the hugely important three points and clean sheet, Manager Mourinho has once again taken to the media to express his latest feelings.
The Portuguese spoke to The Irish Times ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League clash against Dynamo Kiev this evening. Speaking about his treatment by the FA, the media and everyone else critisising him after Chelsea’s awful start to the season he had the following to say..
“I live in a different world. I’m not with the power. I’m not with the power. I’m a lonely guy in this modern world of football. I do my work. I’m not a politician, I’m not a PR, I don’t care what people think about me. I don’t, you know, I’m just what I am. When I am in a great moment it looks like nothing’s happened; when I am in a bad moment, I pay for this a little bit. I don’t have many friends in the football world”
Speaking about pundits he said, “Some of them are really brave, to criticise someone with my history, you need to be brave, as there is a risk someone like myself will say: ‘Shut up. You’ve won nothing in your life. But I won’t do that. I just work and hope that the good results are coming. You know, stability for the manager, in general, it’s gone. It’s gone for everyone, except a couple of ‘special ones.’”
To me he is sounding like a deflated and beaten man almost as if he is giving up and reserved to the fact that things won’t be getting any better. Certainly some interesting comments if you look deeper in to it.
Meanwhile, Juan Cuadrado is a transfer target for Atletico Madrid, according to Fichajes.net. The out of favour Colombian who is currently on loan at Juventus until the end of the season is apparently on the radar of Madrid Manager Diego Simeone, after impressing with recent form in Italy.
Juventus though will also look to bid for Cuadrado in an attempt to keep him permanently so the Spanish side will need to compete, which could work out well for Chelsea who will look to gain the most amount of cash for the winger.
Finally, the Eden Hazard situation. Over weight apparently and now also ‘liking’ posts on the internet that claim he will be joining Real Madrid from Chelsea. The situation was quickly squashed and the claims were that he was simply ‘liking’ the picture of him that was used on the post and not the actual article itself. Hmmm, yes OK Eden.
I said about four weeks a go that it will either be Jose Mourinho leaving Stamford Bridge this season or Eden Hazard. I believe that the player has finally become fed up of his Manager’s critisism and now recently dropping the flying Belgian from the starting line up.
For me, Hazard has turned up this season unconditioned, he has lost that bit of sharpness and needs to and WILL gain that back. Once he does, he will be up their with the worlds best. In my opinion, we need to be doing everything we can to keep hold of this man. He is the driving spark in that team and a player that makes it happen, we aren’t exactly over run with his type of player right now.
If Mourinho has issues with his players, he needs to address those privately, not publicly. This affects players confidence and team morale. He’s done the same with one of the brightest young sparks in English football right now, twice this season now critisising Ruben Loftus-Cheek in public and hauling him off at half time at the weekend. I really don’t agree with this and fail to see ANY benefits of it at all.
Of course, Mourinho is the Manager and if he feels his players are doing something wrong, tell them but do it in private, save the embarrassment and morale denting consequences.
Oh, and Radamel Falcao will also leave in January and end his loan early as he grows frustrated with a lack of game time. Allegedly Barcelona are interested…. Yes, I laughed as well.
That’s it for now Blues but don’t forget to follow my Twitter here for the very latest Chelsea news -> @cfcneteditor
