Good morning Blues and welcome to this game day edition of Chelsea Fresh – where we take a look at the latest Chelsea news, transfer rumours and anything else surrounding the Stamford Bridge club.

As we prepare to take on Aston Villa in the much welcomed Premier League return, Jose Mourinho has once again taken to the media to voice some more surprising comments.

Asked if he would still be in charge if the Blues finish mid-table, he said: “Yes. I was not told that because we don’t expect to finish mid-table.”

He went on to add “For me the important thing is the owner and the board’s message to myself.”

“Before the statement came out, I was having the feedback from the owner and the board. So the statement was not something new for me. I met the owner before dinner so, when I went to dinner, I knew.

“But even before that, I knew what brought me here. I know the conversation we had two years ago. I know what made me sign a new contract, and the reasons why the owner and the board decided to give me a new contract.

“They didn’t have to. I had still two more years, so they didn’t have to give me a new contract. After a bad result – which is not the first bad result of the season, obviously I was not happy, far from it. But I never thought about being sacked.”

And more comments from the Manager regarding the FA’s treatment of him this week have also come in thick and fast as he expressed.

On Thursday, Mourinho said: “I’m happy I don’t have an electronic tag. £50,000 is a disgrace. The possibility of getting a stadium ban is astonishing.”

He also had another dig at the FA, insinuating that they are afraid to punish Arsenal Boss Arsene Wenger…

“Afraid costs £50,000. Weak and naive – you can do it, we can push people in the technical area. We can, no problem.”

Although I agree with the comments from Mourinho and we all know this club is targeted by the FA – there is absolutely nothing we can do about it now and adding more fuel to the fire is simply increasing the chances of us losing our Manager from the sidelines for the rest of the season and how the hell is that supposed to help anyone?

With our season already in complete tatters, we need our Manager on the sideline giving instructions and motivating – all this controversy is not helping anything. We all know the situation, but you think complaining will help? Well, has it helped over the last ten years when we have experienced the same mis-treatment? No, it hasn’t. Let’s put up, shut up and let our football do the talking.

Finally, a bit of transfer news for you… Andriy Yarmolenko is a serious target for Chelsea and that rumour has been fuelled further.

The Ukraine International has been cleverly tied up with a new contract by his club Dynamo Kiev, who are making sure they receive a top fee for one of the highest rated wingers in the game right now.

But the player himself has encouraged offers from Europe and says he wants to play in one for the European top leagues. He also stated that he knows that his current club will consider serious proposals from abroad.

Chelsea are front runners to land his signature but are closely followed by Liverpool and Arsenal.
