Costa in action against Newcastle United
Costa in action against Newcastle United

Good Morning Blues and welcome to Friday’s News Updates from CFCnet, where we take a look at the latest Chelsea news, transfer rumours and anything else surrounding the Stamford Bridge club.

Well, after a miserable first half of the season from Diego Costa featuring bibs being thrown, sulks, drama and a severe lack of goals, it would appear that the Spanish International is ready to jump ship and bail out in the form of a return to former club Atletico Madrid.

According to Sky Sports, Costa has been quoted speaking with Spanish Radio Station Onda Cero, who asked him about a possible return to Madrid and Costa’s response was simply ‘you never know’.

Costa has spoken before about his struggles to settle in England and becoming home sick, add that to his misery and lack of form, I can see him leaving after Christmas. Will this effect the Premier League betting, find out more and get a promo code here

This would mean Chelsea will be in for strikers and we all know the main targets, but apparently The Blues are also considering pushing their proposed move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic forward from the summer to January.

According to Sport Italia, Chelsea are set to offer Ibrahimovic £300,000-a-week to bring him to Stamford Bridge. They say they’ll push to get him as early as January, although it could wait until the summer when his contract expires.

Another player who has been mentioned is midfielder Blaise Matuidi. The Physical and hard working defensive midfielder is apparently a target for Jose Mourinho who admires the way the France International plays.

Paris Saint-Germain are apparently ready to listen to offers for their work horse but any deal is expected to happen in the summer due to him not being eligible to play in the rest of this Champions League if he moved in January.

Finally, Alexandre Pato has added fuel to the rumour mill fire that is beginning to burn at an immense rate as the transfer window fast approaches. Pato was seen watching Chelsea’s game against Porto in midweek and apparently fancies living in London.

So of course, to the likes of The Metro, this can only mean one thing, the Brazilian is signing for Chelsea!

Yeah, pinch of salt needed here once again Blues. That’s it for now but don’t forget to follow my Twitter here for the latest news -> @cfcneteditor
