Good Morning Blues and welcome to Monday’s game day edition of News Updates from CFCnet, where we take a look at the latest Chelsea news, transfer rumours and anything else surrounding the club.

As the Blues prepare to face former Manager Clauidio Ranieri’s high flying Leicester side, their current Manager Jose Mourinho has been talking to the press in what is a must win game for Chelsea to avoid them going in to Christmas sitting just ONE point above the relegation zone.

It’s difficult to get your head around this season seeing the reigning champions so low down the table and every week you keep thinking that this must be the time we will start climbing again. After qualifying for the next stage of the Champions League though with a 2-0 victory over Porto, a convincing win at third placed Leicester could really be the kick start that is needed.

After Diego Costa last week saying that ‘you never know’ in response to a question on him returning to Atletico Madrid, Mourinho has now played this down saying that ‘he thinks’ Costa will stay and that he is happy at Chelsea.

The Spaniard has three years left on his contract and Mourinho seems sure he will see them out. How do I see this? Simply tactical words from Mourinho as per usual, it keeps the players price tag high and also gives him more power in negotiations if he claims the player is still wanted. I personally don’t believe that he is happy at Chelsea and is certainly looking towards his former club for a return.

Finally, according to Spanish website Don Balon Chelsea will consider Real Madrid’s interest in Eden Hazard, but only if James Rodriguez is used as a make weight in the deal. Rodriguez has been the subject of talk surrounding a £58 million move by Chelsea and Hazard has been talked about around the £80 million mark going the other way, so a swap deal could make sense for both clubs.

I feel that Hazard needs to be firmly kept at the club providing he still wants to be there and has his heart there, which recently he has stated that very statement. Hazard will get better, he still has the potential to be one of the worlds best if managed correctly. For me, a swap for Rodriguez would make no sense for us.
