Good Morning Blues and welcome to Tuesday’s news updates from CFCnet, where we take a look at the latest Chelsea news, transfer rumours and anything else surrounding the Stamford Bridge club.

As the January transfer window edges closer, rumours are firing up and it continues to be strikers that Chelsea are negotiating. Fichajes are claiming that Chelsea are attempting to negotiate a deal with Atletico Madrid that will suit all parties, seeing Diego Costa re-joining the Serie A side with powerful forward Jackson Martinez going in the other direction.

Chelsea have had Martinez on their wish list previously, but the striker has suffered with injuries this term and not really hit the mark running. He could be interested in restarting his career in the Premier League.

Not sure that there is much in this even though it has been re-reported by most UK press outlets, the source can be a bit hit or miss. Having been one who has never really rated Costa, I would not be sad to see him go. We need a world beater up there now, we need a real high calibre striker and I’m not so sure that Martinez is the one either.

Finally, with Cesc Fabregas being targeted by a small section of Chelsea boo boys at the weekend, it appears he is fighting back in an attempt to prove that he was not one of those against Jose Mourinho. As it would appear him coming out and saying so previously was not enough to convince some fans.

Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin stated that he thought Fabregas was one of those who ‘would rather lose than play for Mourinho’, sparking backing from supporters. Fabregas is now reported to be taking legal action against these comments.

This report has surfaced from The Daily Mail, so once again there may not be any substance to this story but we shall see.
