Good Morning Blues and welcome to Friday’s Transfer Centre from CFCnet, where we take a look at the latest Chelsea transfer rumours during this window….
First of all, frustratingly news has come out that Liverpool have not only made an offer for Chelsea target Alex Teixeira, but are also one of the main contenders to sign Alexandre Pato from Corinthians.
Contrary to those reports, I understand that Pato to Chelsea is pretty much a done deal, with the player joining on loan until the end of the season with a view to making it permanent. But certain rumours this morning are suggesting their are a number of clubs negotiating with him, including Liverpool.
The Reds have also had a £25 million offer rejected for Teixeira, with Shahktar holding out for £30 million. The player himself had revealed he was in talks with Chelsea about a move a few months back, but I am wondering whether The Blues have now been priced out the move and not prepared to pay the £30 million as they are still chasing their number one target John Stones from Everton, who could end up costing over £50 million.
Apparently Nemanja Matic is the latest player to want to leave Chelsea, joining a whole list of players who allegedly want out of the club, especially if there is no Champions League football next season. Good riddance I say, maybe we’d be finally forced to play the youngsters.
Finally, apparently Guus Hiddink is once again exploring the possibility of swapping Diego Costa for Jackson Martinez of Atletico Madrid. It is pretty evident that Costa would consider moving back to Spain and rejoining his former club, but Chelsea will need a replacement.
Martinez is a powerful figure and his agent says he could be interested in a move. Although is he the right man for Chelsea? Seeing as he has also been struggling for goals since joining Atletico, I am not so convinced.
That’s it for now Blues but don’t forget to follow my Twitter here for the latest Chelsea news -> @cfcneteditor
