Good Afternoon Blues and welcome to a busy Transfer Centre here today from CFCnet, as we take a look at the latest potential transfers at Chelsea during this January Transfer Window.
First of all, some updates on a couple of potential attackers arriving. After Sky had reported that Chelsea were interested in signing Ezequiel Lavezzi, there has been reports today that the deal could be going cold.
ESPN are now saying that although their have been talks between the players agent and Chelsea, it is likely that any deal will not be completed during this month and that the player would prefer a move to Serie A, with Napoli showing interest.
However, a player who looks even more likely to join by the day is Alexandre Pato from Corinthians. All reputable sources are saying that this deal will happen over the next day or so and the quoted fee is said to be around £7.5 million with the player apparently ready to take a pay cut to play in the Premier League.
Sky says a verbal agreement has been made with Chelsea, with contract talks still in negotiation. Talks of an initial loan if an agreement cannot be made with a lump sum being paid at the end.
Meanwhile, reports from the UK Press are saying that Pedro’s 5 month Chelsea career could be coming to a premature end after pretty much a write off few months. A trip back to Spain could be likely with Valencia and Villarreal showing interest.
Another player who could be leaving is England youth International Nathaniel Chalobah. Gazetto Dello Sport are saying that Napoli are looking to make his loan move a permanent one with representatives flying to London this week to discuss a deal.
This pains me, anyone who reads my blogs regularly will see my frustrations and anger directed towards youth talent not getting chances and now we are about to lose another prospect? I genuinely had high hopes for Chalobah. Let’s hope this is merely a rumour.
Finally, Guus Hiddink wants to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, with Christian Atsu going the other way. This report according to the4thofficial who says a bid has been made. Atsu is back from his loan with Bournemouth and is thought to be offered along with £15 million for their superstar winger.
