Chelsea winger Willian is the first Blues star to speak since forward Diego Costa agreed to a deal to leave the club (via Sky Sports).

Diego Costa’s future was one of the stories of the summer, so much so that it has only just reached its conclusion.

After months of trying, the Spaniard has finally sealed his return to former club Atletico Madrid with Costa eligible to play from January.

Now, one of the Chelsea players has spoken at length about Costa’s departure.

These players are great players, we miss these players, but Chelsea always try to bring players with quality,” Willian told Sky Sports.

“I think the players that arrive have the quality to play here and the squad and the team are still strong. And we have to push till the end of the season.

“You have to try and always play the best football on the pitch.

“It is the same, nothing changes. Of course the players change, but the way we play, nothing changes, we always train in the same way, we always have a plan to come to the game, nothing changes.

“We have to look forward. There are more games coming and we have to be ready.”

He’s not wrong there. Chelsea travel to Stoke City this afternoon and will be hoping to put the disappointment of last week’s draw with Arsenal behind them. The Blues may be without Diego Costa but the players are used to it by now.
