Antonio Conte is furious with Chelsea’s fixture pileup despite the impressive Champions League win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday (via The Metro).

Every Chelsea fan will agree that Wednesday was a great night for Antonio Conte’s men.

The Blues came back from a goal down to become the first site to beat Atletico Madrid at their new stadium.

Now, attention has switched back to the Premier League with Manchester City travelling to Stamford Bridge on Saturday and Antonio Conte is not happy that Guardiola’s men have been given an extra rest day.

“We are a bit penalised,” Conte said. “It is important to take this decision for the team,

“Manchester City were yesterday at home, we were tonight away. We arrive in London at around 4am. To have only one day is not right as there is the international break, there aren’t other fixtures.

“I am surprised that we play the big game on Saturday and not Sunday. This is the truth but we want to be ready and we want to face this game.

“Manchester City are a really strong team. They are scoring a lot of goals. It is very important in the league, someone must analyse the situation. It is very difficult to understand.”

It’s easy to understand why Antonio Conte is so frustrated. The fixtures are not kind to The Blues and with such a big match against Manchester City, surely a switch to Sunday would’ve been better.
