Chelsea fear that N’Golo Kante’s injury is far worse than the club first thought with the midfielder set to miss upwards of a month (via The Telegraph).

It was worrying to see N’Golo Kante limp off the field during France’s victory over Bulgaria last Saturday.

The midfielder’s importance to club and country cannot be overstated so there were a lot of hearts in mouths as fans wondered how long he could miss.

Initially, it was thought that Kante wouldn’t be out for that long but he has since been assessed by Chelsea’s medical staff and the conclusion is worse than first thought.

It is reported that Kante could miss upwards of a month with the injury, including some key fixtures for the Blues.

If these reports are true then Kante will miss up to six matches including two Champions League ties against Roma.

N’Golo Kante would be a huge loss to Chelsea, especially for so long. The midfielder started 35 matches during the Premier League title-winning campaign last season and is vital to this team. Let’s hope he returns as soon as possible.
