Sky Sports pundit, Jamie Redknapp doesn’t think that Chelsea should regret selling some of their former players who are performing well in the Premier League right now (via The Daily Mail).

Chelsea are very active in the transfer market. The club uses the market as an additional revenue stream with some smart purchases and player sales.

The club almost always sells at a profit but, unfortunately, they sometimes sell players too soon.

The likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku are the usual examples of this but the Blues also sold Mohamed Salah.

Salah left for Serie A side, AS Roma two years ago and is now performing incredibly well for Liverpool. However, Sky Sports pundit, Jamie Redknapp doesn’t think that the Blues should regret these sales.

“Three high-profile ex-Chelsea players scored on Saturday – Salah, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne,” Redknapp wrote in his Daily Mail column.

“The club have been criticised for letting them go but De Bruyne – now the Premier League’s best player – can be their only real regret.

“Would Antonio Conte trade Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata for Salah and Lukaku? And let us not forget that Chelsea have won the title in two of the last three seasons without this trio.”

The Blues obviously wouldn’t trade Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata for Salah and Lukaku but that is hardly the point. Antonio Conte could now have both players in addition to his current squad if things had gone differently in the past. Imagine Kevin De Bruyne sitting deep in this Chelsea midfield and the likes of Salah and Lukaku in the squad and not feel regretful.
