Antonio Conte looks set to name another side stacked with youth talent in the Carabao Cup as the Blues take on AFC Bournemouth (via The Metro).

Chelsea return to Carabao Cup action on Wednesday as they welcome AFC Bournemouth to Stamford Bridge.

Most Premier League managers use the cup as an opportunity to give some game time to some of the younger players and Antonio Conte was asked if he would be doing the same on Wednesday.

“Why not?” he replied. “I think these players are the future for Chelsea.

“[Dujon] Sterling is a really good player. [Callum] Hudson-Odoi won the [Under-17] World Cup.

“[Ethan] Ampadu played the last game against Everton, maybe he could start also tomorrow. I think I must consider the young players if they deserve to have this chance.

“I think Sterling has spent a lot of time working with us this season. Ampadu is always every day with the first team.

“And Hudson-Odoi is another player who deserves to have a chance to show he can play for this team for 10 or 15 years.”

Some promising words from Antonio Conte there. The fact that he mentioned that one of these players could play for Chelsea for over a decade must give them tremendous confidence they they have a chance of breaking through into the first-team, something which very few have managed at Stamford Bridge in recent years.
