Chelsea fans reportedly won’t have to wait much longer for the big transfer announcement they’ve been waiting for, after news broke last week that Timo Werner is destined for a transfer to the Blues.
The actual medical part of the deal has been delayed, making the logistics of that a little tricky, but the German will all but certainly sign on the dotted line by the start of next week – according to the Evening Standard.
Next Monday is the day that Timo Werner’s contract release clause expires, getting the deal done before that deadline is paramount for Chelsea as it would represent a relatively ‘cheap’ outlay of £53million – for a player with 31 goals in all competitions this season.
The report claims that Chelsea and Werner have already agreed terms and that RB Leipzig are now planning for life after their talented German goalscorer.
The deal is all-but done, but the big reveal is what all Chelsea fans are now anxiously waiting for before the return of the Premier League.
